That air handling unit is also listed for 2-1/2 ton systems. Stating the obvious - the GAF2 AHU includes the coil. As example, my American Standard 3 ton 14 SEER Heat Pump is a combination of 4A6H4036D1000A condensing unit and GAF2A0A36M31SC air handling unit. Note - different condensers, TX/EEV and coils are matched to achieve SEER (efficiency) and cost balances. IMHO a better path - if you have confidence in the condensing unit and it's R410a, I suggest buying a new air handler matched to the condenser. Effectively, the compressor is half the unit. I can't see the sense in replacing a good compressor since beyond that, a condenser consists of a louvered can, coil and control panel.

I really like the Trane system and being free of R22. I replaced all with a new matched R410a Trane system. The goodman did not have high pressure cut-out and instead relied on the compressor relief valve until failure.

The compressor went due to either mismatch or bad install (no nitrogen?). Last year I replaced an R22 heat pump system with TWO YEAR OLD goodman condensing unit paired to a seven year old Trane air handler. Our 20th year anniversary is May 21, 2020.
